Aston Martin make Nissan’s Andy Palmer their new CEO

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Andy Palmer (pictured) is taking the reins at Aston Martin Lagonda Aston Martin has effectively been without a boss since Ulrich Bez stepped down from the role last year, but that changes with the announcement that Andrew Palmer – until now, Chief Planning Officer of Nissan – is to step in to the role. There’s no specific start date for Andy Palmer at Aston, but Nissan has announced that Philippe Klein will take up Palmer’s role at Nissan on 15 September, so it shouldn’t be long before Palmer holds the reins at Aston Martin. BMW 1 Series M Coupe – Official +video

Fri, 09 Jul 2010

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe - it's official The whole ‘Will it – Won’t it’ debate about a BMW 1 Series ‘M’ version has been rumbling on for decades (not quite, it just feels that way) with many convinced that not only would BMW make an ‘M’ car for their smallest car but would call it the M1. Well’ they’ve made the car but they haven’t wasted the moniker - it’s the BMW 1 Series M Coupe.

Mercedes’ AMG division unveils new twin-turbo V8

Tue, 09 Mar 2010

Those obsessed with torque bemoaned Mercedes’ high-revving 6.2-litre V8 when it was launched in 2005, but just as the world has come to accept the naturally aspirated engine, the company has now unveiled a new twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8. Up to 563bhp – which is the same as the SLS AMG – and 663lb ft, which is much more than the 479lb ft the modern-day Gullwing supercar manages. The engine is an all-new 5.5-litre V8 (5461cc to be exact) with direct-injection technology, an aluminium crankcase and two turbochargers.
