At a glamorous awards ceremony at the Espace Clacquesin in Paris earlier this evening, the world's top designers and automotive journalists gathered together to watch sponsors Peugeot and Volkswagen reveal the 2012 Interior Motives Student Design of the Year: ‘Autopool' by Siavash Jafari Jozani and Mina Kasirifar from the University of Tehran. At the end of what was a memorable event, the two Iranian students walked away with one of the most prestigious accolades in the automotive design industry and a cash prize of $5,000. New Images: Mercedes Unimog concept

Mercedes-Benz's Special Trucks unit (MBS) recently revealed a design study celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Unimog at the Daimler plant in Wörth, Germany. Called simply '60 Years Unimog', the concept is said to inform the future form language of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle design. Developed jointly by the MBS development team, the Daimler commercial vehicle designers in Sindelfingen and a model designing partner, the Unimog concept was inspired by the poison dart frog, a natie of Central and South America.

U.S. proposes new labels for fuel economy, emissions levels

Consumers shopping for a new car would be able to compare fuel economy and emissions levels across all types of vehicles by looking at revised labels on window stickers under an Obama administration proposal made Monday. Government regulators are seeking public comment on changes to fuel-economy labels that would allow comparisons across electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and conventional gasoline and diesel vehicles. The U.S.
