Jeremy Clarkson loves BMW. Especially the 535d & BMW 1M Coupe

Mon, 21 Nov 2011

BMW 1M Coupe - the most fun car of 2011 Jeremy Clarkson hasn’t had the easiest of relationships with BMW. He hated the first BMW X3 (didn’t we all), he thinks anyone with a brain would buy a 5-Series and ignore the X5, the BMW SatNav is only good for directions to Poland and he thought only knobs drive a Beemer. But he has decided the knobs all drive Audi’s now and has declared the M3 the benchmark for all performance cars.

General Motors combines smartphone functions with the Chevrolet Volt

Wed, 06 Jan 2010

General Motors is bringing together two of the hottest areas of technology--smartphones and plug-in electric cars. GM's OnStar telematics unit has developed a downloadable application that will let Chevrolet Volt drivers use a Blackberry Storm, Apple iPhone or Motorola Droid to remotely control and monitor some vehicle functions, such as charging. The Volt is slated to go into production late this year and arrive in California utility company fleets by early 2011.

Crackdown on 'distracted' drivers

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

A CRACKDOWN on distracted drivers caught one motorist having a shave using a razor and a water bottle and a woman doing her make-up in the rear view mirror while on a motorway. The five-day police operation across the motorways of Hampshire and the Thames Valley resulted in 198 motorists being prosecuted for driving offences - most of them driving whilst distracted. Other offences spotted were a lorry driver brushing his teeth, two van drivers reading newspapers while they drove, one person reading a map on the steering wheel and two drivers using iPads (one on the steering wheel) as they travelled along.
