Audi RS Q3 (2013) first official pictures

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

Audi's applied the RS badge to a soft-roader for the first time: this is the RS Q3. Using a slightly detuned TTRS engine, the RS Q3 puts 306bhp and 307lb ft through all four wheels, via a standard-fit dual-clutch gearbox Audi RS Q3: the powertrain spec The petrol-fuelled 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine is related to the TTRS five-pot, but here it's developing 306bhp rather than 335bhp. Maximum torque is on tap from 1500rpm to 4200rpm.

Porsche 911 RS models through the ages – on video

Fri, 26 Mar 2010

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 26 March 2010 06:35 Porsche GB has issued a rather cool video detailing the history of the 911 RS models – filmed in situ at the new Porsche Experience Centre in Silverstone.Unlike most corporate videos, this one is remarkably free of commercial sells – although we should remember its presenter will be a tad biased! But we're posting it here because we reckon it's a great video guide to the most hardcore of 911s, tracing the history of the lightweight Renn Sport specials all the way back from the 1973 original up to the present day.>> Rip-off or rip-rorting? Aston Martin in talks with Mercedes for engine supply

Thu, 09 May 2013

It has seemed for some time that Aston Martin’s wish-list for future engines revolved around Mercedes. They currently use a V12 developed from Ford’s Mondeo V6 and a V8 that’s a development of the 4.2 litre that was in Jaguars (and Range Rovers) until a few years ago, but new engines (and new platforms) are vital if Aston are to remain competitive. Before the recent investment in AML by Investindustrial, there were plans for Aston to use both engines and platforms from Mercedes (the Lagonda SUV was built on the underpinnings of the Mercedes GL) and even the possibility that Aston Martin would design and build the next generation Maybach.
