The Lexus IS SportCross - the 1st generation Lexus IS Estate The Lexus IS Range is Toyota’s answer to BMW’s 3 Series and Audi’s A4. And it does a very creditable job, particularly for those drivers for whom quality of finish and lots of toys are much further up the list than driving dynamics. Who's Where: Martin Smith to retire, succeeded by Joel Piaskowski as Ford Europe head of design

Martin Smith, head of Ford of Europe design for the last 10 years, will retire at the end of this year, before which he will work on a project to study the future direction of the company's global design direction. He will be replaced by current head of strategic concepts group, Joel Piaskowski on 1 July. Smith (64) first joined Ford back in 2004, leaving General Motors as director of design for Opel/Vauxhall.

Exotic Cadillac XTS mule spotted

Autoweek reader and frequent spy-photo contributor Spencer Abbott brings us these photos that he took last weekend in Birmingham, Mich. The photos clearly show a heavily camouflaged Cadillac XTS. But given that production-ready examples of Cadillac's new full-sizer have been making frequent appearances on Michigan highways for months, the heavy camo on this XTS is a bit puzzling.
