Ford Y-block 239 Ci Pistons. 040" Over. Used But Good Shape. From 1954 F100 on 2040-parts.com

Trying to rebuild one of these oldies but goodies and can't find a source for USA made pistons? Maybe this is your answer. I pulled these from my engine that is toast due to cracked heads and block. The cylinders measured out to about .004 to .005 wear so judge for yourself the number of miles on these pistons. They look in reasonably decent shape, no excessive skirt wear or gouging. However ONE piston had its two compression rings corroded in place, I suspect coolant leaked in that cylinder. I cleaned the grooves out and glass beaded that area to clean is up. A rings fits in the grooves just like you would expect, no binding no excessive side play. I took a photo (#2) showing the absolute worst section of that piston. You will see some minor pitting along the top edge. The rest of the pistons are loaded with carbon and need to be cleaned, The rings are all free in there grooves. The piston pins are snug in the pistons, no excess wear there. What you see is what you get. You get to remove the existing rings and clean em up. I'll split the shipping cost with you and charge only a $10 flat shipping fee, probably via UPS.
Please note I really did ONLY GLASS bead the top of the piston, no sand or harsh abrasive, just fine glass beads. |
