This mean hatch is the R GTi, which gets a big helping of carbonfibre to shave off weight and a huge power upgrade. The 197bhp 2.0-litre’s stock turbo makes way for a bigger blower, yielding 375hp.

He’s been a fan of the rodding scene forever and back in 2001 he met Jon Golding of Home Grown Hot Rods.

Those expecting Elise-style handling and Esprit-like power might be touch on the disappointed side, though… There’s no doubt that the Satria Neo is a sharper-looking car than its predecessor.
