Mon, 14 Jan 2013The new Mercedes CLA – the ‘baby’ CLS based on the new A Class – has finally been revealed ahead of going on sale in the UK in May 2013. The very stylish four-door coupe styling based on the new Mercedes A Class has survived almost intact from the Style Concept, offering buyers looking for a smaller Mercedes a real alternative to the CLS without sacrificing anything other than a size. Despite being revealed on the eve of the Detroit Auto Show, the new Mercedes CLA will actually make its public debut at the Berlin Fashion Week this week as Mercedes seek to mark the CLA’s design out as a ‘Style Rebel’.
MINI Countryman to be built in India
Wed, 17 Apr 2013MINI sells worldwide – even in the US – and, despite claims it was a step too far for the brand, the MINI Countryman has been a big hit for MINI, offering as it does most of MINI’s charm but in a bigger, more family friendly package and with the option of All4 4WD for a degree of off-road ability (well, certainly the ability to treat boot sale car parks with disdain). Now, for the first time, BMW is to build the MINI outside Europe with a new MINi assembly facility coming on stream in Chennai, India, where BMW already makes 3 and 5 Series models as well as the X1 and X3. The plan is part of BMW’s plan of ‘Production follows the market’ where BMW aim to make their cars where they’re sold, so with the MINI brand showing strong growth in India since its launch it makes sense to build them there.

Thu, 03 Jul 2014New Nissan Pulsar (pictured) costs from £15,995 In May, Nissan revealed they are heading back in to the hatchback market after deserting it in favour of small SUVs with an all new Nissan Pulsar to take on the might of the VW Golf and Ford Focus in the hotly contested C-Segment market. And now we know how much the Nissan Pulsar will cost, what its engines will be and what trim options will be available. The new Pulsar will go on sale in t he Autumn in the UK with a choice of two engines – the 1.2 litre DIG-T 115 petrol and the 1.5 litre dCi 110 diesel – and a choice of four trim levels - Visia, Acenta, n-tec and Tekna – although there will doubtless be more engine, and trim, options available after launch including a 190PS 1.6 litre turbo petrol.
