Citroen Cactus concept car (2013): the first bubble-wrap, bump-free car
Thu, 05 Sep 2013French car firm Citroen has enjoyed some success with its range of upmarket DS models – but now it’s turning its attention to the bread-and-butter C-line cars. And the new 2013 Citroen Cactus concept car is the first look at what’s in store for the mainstream Citroen car range. Citroen Cactus Concept heading for Frankfurt Motor Show
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Citroen Cactus Concept tease It may be the teasing season for car makers as we head for the Frankfurt Motor Show, but Citroen are giving very little away in their tease for a new concept – the Citroen Cactus Concept. The Cactus Concept – a name used before by Citroen in 2007 for the C-Cactus Hybrid – shows what looks to be a compact car with some of the design features at the front we’ve seen on the new C4 Picasso. But with what looks to be chunky plastic cladding round the extremities of the Cactus, we’re guessing Citroen see the Cactus as some sort of small urban warrior, complete with bumpers that bounce back after supermarket trolley collisions with reference in the video to an ‘Air Bump’.
Toyota A-BAT concept (2008): first official pictures
Tue, 15 Jan 2008By Guy Bird First Official Pictures 15 January 2008 13:39 Toyota’s latest Detroit concept flips on its head the current orthodoxy that pick-ups can’t be green. The A-BAT is a compact pick-up, akin to a RAV4 in size, featuring a four-cylinder petrol/electric hybrid and solar panels built into the top of the dashboard efficient enough to power the sat-nav and other interior tools. The much-vaunted Prius was indeed an influence in the A-BAT’s green-tinged exterior design leanings.
