It wasn’t the most shocking story considering how feeble the London Cab has become in comparison to newer offerings like the Mercedes Taxi – which is taking a big chunk of sales from the traditional cab – but still sad to see the iconic London Taxi end up this way. The Mercedes CL Grand Edition signals the end of the current CL range The 2012 Mercedes CL Grand Edition has been released with designo extras, AMG bits and new alloys. If we didn’t already know the current Mercedes S Class was coming to the end of its shelf life, the launch of the Mercedes S Class Grand Edition last summer confirmed it. And just to make sure we’re in no doubt, Mercedes has now launched a Grand Edition of the S Class Coupe with AMG extras, designo bits inside and out and new alloys, to finally consign the current S Class saloon and coupe to history – the Mercedes CL Grand Edition.

Chevrolet Volt for European sale in November 2011

Chevrolet will start selling the Volt range-extender hybrid from European Chevy outlets in November 2011 and plans right-hand drive from UK launch in spring 2012. It means that GM will offer Europeans the choice of the Volt or the Opel/Vauxhall Ampera – the Euro spec version of the same car. Although prices are not yet set for either model, CAR understands the Chevy is likely to be positioned slightly cheaper than the Vauxhall.
