Peugeot Onyx Concept: Paris 2012
Fri, 28 Sep 2012The Peugeot Onyx Supercar Concept is a concept that will never be built and based on the underpinnings of the Peugeot Le Mans car. So Paris 2012 gets treated to the appealing Peugeot Onyx – a Gallic Jaguar C-X75, if you like – looking sexy and sleek on the floor in Paris with its copper and carbon fibre body and use of unusual materials like crystal glass and compressed paper. But it seems, as if we didn’t already know, that Peugeot aren’t planning to build an Onyx supercar – or at least not in their current financial muddle - and have even nicked its underpinnings from their own Le Mans 24hr diesel engine car to give the Onyx some eco and supercar credibility.
Acura retools lineup to put the focus on mpg
Mon, 12 Dec 2011Honda will overhaul and reposition its Acura lineup over the next 18 months and abandon its long pursuit of top-tier luxury-car status for the brand. With one exception: At the Detroit auto show in January, Honda will bring back the Ferrari-fighting Acura NSX--a new version of the mid-engine supercar that disappeared in 2005 after a 15-year run.
Hyundai, Kia retract mileage claims
Fri, 02 Nov 2012Hyundai and Kia overstated the estimated fuel economy on more than 900,000 U.S. vehicles sold over the past two years and will compensate owners for the faulty claims, a newspaper reported. In addition, the South Korean partners will lower the fuel-economy estimates on most of their 2012 and 2013 models, the Detroit News said.
