Opel Trixx concept for the Geneva Motor Show
Mon, 02 Feb 2004Opel/Vauxhall has released first details of the Trixx small car concept to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Martin Smith, Opel/Vauxhall executive director of design, says: "Trixx shows our vision of an innovative, ultra-compact car in the three-metre-class, with an expressive, exciting design, and meets a variety of mobility requirements with its clever, highly versatile interior concept." Trixx has an inflatable rear seat, sliding electric doors, and a push-button roof hatch that allows it to carry extra-long objects upright. The versatile car can carry up to three adults and a child, and as a one-seater it turns into a substantial load carrier.
Studio Torino offers Porsche Cayman-based Moncenisio
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Studio Torino, the firm that brought us the little known RK Spider and RK Coupe -- both based on Porsches -- is sending another vehicle to market this November called the Moncenisio. The Moncenisio is based on the 2013 Porsche Cayman S, and will carry all of the same mechanicals, with a body designed by Daniele Gaglione. That means a power output of 325 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque.
U.S. seeks 5 percent annual fuel-economy gains through 2016
Tue, 15 Sep 2009The Obama administration today proposed gasoline mileage and greenhouse-gas pollution standards for new vehicles for model years 2012 to 2015, filling in the blanks for manufacturers en route to a 35.5 mpg national target in 2016. The Transportation Department and EPA proposal calls for fuel economy to increase by about 5 percent each year, starting from an average of 27.3 mpg for the 2011 model year, the agencies said in a statement. The average car buyer would save more than $3,000 in fuel costs over the life of a vehicle, the statement said.
