It did it with 993 and 996 911s, but this time the 997 Porsche 911 Turbo S is to be a stand-alone model at the top of the 911 tree.
VW will build small run of XL1 plug-in hybrid
Wed, 26 Jan 2011Volkswagen will begin production of its XL1 plug-in hybrid in two years. "We want to go into series production with this car starting in 2013," VW chairman Ferdinand Piech told Automotive News Europe on Tuesday at an event in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the 2011 Qatar auto show where VW unveiled an XL1 prototype. Nissan reveals Leaf Autonomous Drive prototype

Back then a Nissan NSC-2015 concept car, a Nissan Leaf with what seemed like a couple hundred pounds worth of computers in the trunk, was able to find a parking spot for itself under controlled conditions and park itself.
