2012 Toyota Yaris: The UK stuff
Wed, 13 Jul 2011The 2012 Toyota Yaris - the UK details We’ve been trailing the 2012 Toyota Yaris since the end of last year when Toyota in Japan unveiled the JDM Toyota Viz ( the Japanese version of the Yaris) and again a month ago with the unofficial Euro details. But now Toyota UK has decided – especially as the 2012 Yaris is starting to roll off production lines in Europe from today – that they may as well make the new Yaris official, give us some details and let us know exactly how much a new Yaris will now cost. The Yaris will come in four flavours of trim – T2, TR, SR and Spirit – although Toyota say that a full two thirds of sales are of the TR trim.
Aston Martin Rapide ‘S’ spied
Thu, 26 May 2011Aston Martin Rapide S - at a rather steep £200k, we expect It took AM slightly longer to get the Aston Martin Rapide from concept to production than the career of the Spice Girls, although the final product is a bit more appealing. Well, depending on circumstances. But now, just a year since the Rapide became a production model, Aston Martin are gearing up to bring us a Rapide with a bit more grunt – the Aston Martin Rapide S.
Max Wolff to become Design Director at Lincoln
Thu, 02 Dec 2010Ford's luxury nameplate, Lincoln, is set to welcome a new design director, the first dedicated design director for the brand. The role will be filled by former GM designer Max Wolff, who will head the design team in the new year. Until Wolff's appointment, Peter Horbury and Moray Callum, Ford's Executive Director of Design, The Americas, oversaw Lincoln-Mercury designs – the two brands were paired before Ford decided to kill off Mercury earlier this year. While Gerry McGovern headed Lincoln-Mercury design for a brief period before becoming director of Advanced Design at Land Rover in 2004, Lincoln itself has never had a design director dedicated solely to the brand. Wolff brings with him extensive global perspective and luxury design experience; his most recent role was with Cadillac, where he was head of exteriors.
