Product Features

The 1721 Mark-2 is a compact radar designed for small fishing boats and pleasure craft. Radar targets are presented in 8 shades of green on a 7" CRT.
Standard features include an EBL and EVRM, Echo Plot, Guard Zone Alarm, Off-center and Watch Mode. Continuous and automatic control of receiver tuning ensures optimum performance and target detection while keeping overall radar operation simple. The Guard Zone Alarm offers aural and visual alarms when a target enters/exits a user-defined area. The Economy Mode feature reduces power consumption during standby.

When connected to appropriate sensors outputting NMEA0183 data, the 1721 Mark-2 displays the following information: ship's position in Lat/Lon or Loran-C TD's, cursor position in Lat/Lon, ship's speed and course/range/bearing to the selected waypoint and Lollipop waypoint mark.

Chrysler scraps paper owner’s manuals, shifts to DVDs

Chrysler Group is replacing its traditional owner’s manuals with DVDs and an abridged printed guide in an effort to reduce costs and save 930 tons of paper annually. Chrysler will see “substantial savings” from the shift away from paper manuals, which often had more than 500 pages, spokesman Bryan Zvibleman said. He declined to say how much will be saved by the change, which is taking effect with 2010 models.

New Orleans' Louisiana Superdome, home at one time or another to Super Bowl champions and Hurricane Katrina refugees, is now home to a luxury-car brand. The arena was renamed the Mercedes-Benz Superdome this week after the carmaker acquired naming rights for 10 years. "The investment being made by a premier international brand who believes in 'the best or nothing,' is a tremendous compliment to all of those who worked so hard to make the stadium what it is today," said Tom Benson, owner of the NFL's New Orleans Saints.
