Furunos NX300 paperless Navtex receiver is the most economical way of monitoring navigational warnings, meteorological warnings, search and rescue information and other data for ships sailing within 200-400 n.m. of shore. Every incoming message is identified and new messages are read from the high-contrast 4.5" LCD display, no paper is required. However, you can print out the message via a PC. The NX300 consists of the compact, waterproof display and an H-Field Loop antenna. You can also use the NX300 as a nav repeater, by using its NMEA0183 port to connect it to your GPS or DGPS receiver. Chrysler reportedly set to expand Toledo assembly plant
Thu, 11 Aug 2011The Chrysler Group is planning to expand its Toledo, Ohio, assembly complex, adding a second shift and more than 1,100 jobs to the operation that currently builds the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro SUVs, the Toledo Blade newspaper reported Thursday. The $365 million investment could be the first of several major expansions to Chrysler's Toledo operations, which also include production of the Jeep Wrangler at the nearby Toledo North Plant, the newspaper reported. The automaker disclosed the plans in documents filed in a city tax application that will be discussed by local officials at a meeting Thursday night, the report said.
Call to cut school run car journeys
Tue, 17 Jun 2014A 10% CUT in school run car journeys would boost Britain's economy by around £46 million a year, a sustainable transport charity has claimed. Sustrans, which is calling on the Government to formally recognise the right of every child to be able to walk or cycle to school safely, estimates that ferrying children to school by car accounts for 24% of peak time traffic. Using Department for Transport modelling to calculate the financial drain on business caused by rush-hour congestion, Sustrans estimated that a 14% reduction in car use for school runs would take 167,000 vehicles off the road with an annual "saving" of £66.2 million.
