The Furuno Model 1621 is a compact LCD Radar for smaller craft. It consists of a display unit, antenna unit and interconnect cable. The display unit has a 6", high-definition LCD screen which displays echoes in 4 shades of grey. The screen is clearly visible day and night.

Standard features include EBL, EVRM, Echo Trail and Guard Zone Alarm. Automatic control of tuning, gain and anti-clutter combines optimum performance with ease of operation.

The 1621 offers three different operation modes: Normal, Off-center or Watch. In Watch mode, the antenna is stopped and the transmitter is off while the screen displays nav data only. The radar wakes up at specified intervals (5, 10 or 20 minutes) and operates for 20 scans. If targets enter or leave the guard zone, an audible alarm sounds and the radar resumes normal operation.

Being both compact and splashproof, the display unit is ideally suited to both flybridge and cockpit installations.
