Rare barn finds on sale: Jaguar E-Type and XK120 head to auction

The motoring world remains full of surprises – here we have a pair of classic Jaguars that had apparently been all but forgotten until they were pulled out of their respective hiding places earlier this year. Shelby 1000 Mustang: A completely bonkers dose of American Muscle Car

Shelby 1000 Mustang Shelby has taken the Ford Mustang GT500 and given it up to 1085bhp to create the Shelby 1000. But it’ll cost you the best part of £150k. Fifty years ago Caroll Shelby changed UK motorways forever by teaming up with AC to produce the AC Cobra which, it is said, was responsible for Barbara Castle introducing the 70mph speed limits on motorways after AC used the new M1 to test the AC Cobra at speeds of up to 180mph.

BMW i3 Concept (2011) first official pictures

This is the BMW i3 Concept, a near-production preview of Munich’s new urban vehicle. Previously known as the Megacity Vehicle (MCV), it’s an all-electric carbonfibre and aluminium car that BMW will sell from 2013 as part of its new ‘i’ range – the i8 supercar has also been unveiled today. Both the BMW i3 and i8 concepts will be revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show in September.
