Local Motors has chosen the design it will 3D-print during the course of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (ITMS) in Chicago, IL, which runs from 8-13 September. Called Strati, the concept was judged the best entry in Local Motors' first 3D Printed Car Design Challenge. It was created by Italian designer Michele AnoƩ, and his design 'will inform and influence' the car to be printed during the course of the ITMS.

SUPERMARKETS are slashing fuel prices again. In the latest round of cuts, Sainsbury's is reducing its petrol by up to 6p a litre and its diesel by up to 4p a litre. This means customers will pay no more than 129.9p a litre for petrol and 136.9p for diesel, with the reductions taking place from today.

Nissan North America has launched production in Tennessee of the redesigned 2013 Altima sedan that it hopes will challenge the family-sedan supremacy of the Toyota Camry. "We didn't put all of the investment into this product and put in all the features with an expectation to be No. 2," said Bill Krueger, vice chairman of Nissan Americas, after the first 2013 model rolled off the line in Smyrna, Tenn., on May 15.
