Lister Knobbly back on track
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Lister The Lister Knobbly - one of the most famous British racing cars of the 1950s - is now available to buy new, with prices starting from £249,000 for track-only versions and £259,000 for road car derivatives. Lister Cars was founded by George Lister in 1954 and its Jaguar-based ‘Lister Knobbly’ race cars were among the most competitive cars in motor racing during the late 1950s. In May 2013 three existing companies - George Lister Engineering of Cambridge, Brian Lister Light Engineering and Lister Storm – were amalgamated following investment by Warranty Wise to create Lister Motor Company Limited.
Porsche 911 Carrera GTS: Paris Motor Show 2010 +video
Thu, 07 Oct 2010Porsche 911 Carrera GTS - Video below Porsche managed to add two new 911s to its range at the Paris Motor Show, which must now mean you have a choice of at least 147 911s when next you venture out to the local Porsche dealer. The 911 Speedster will be daft money, but the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS will be a little more sanely priced at £76,758 for the Coupe. We actually got the reveal on the 911 GTS slightly ahead of the press days at Paris, but probably because that left more room for the 911 Speedster to shine at the show itself.
Lotus Exige S Roadster Official: Price (£52,800) and Specs
Wed, 22 May 2013It’s the first properly good news from Lotus for a while, and looks a promising offering at the same price (£52,800) as the tin top Exige S and, remarkably for a convertible, actually weighing less than the hard top – although by only 10kg. The Exige S Roadster gets the same 3.5 litre V6 as the coupe which means 345bhp, 295lb/ft of torque and a 0-60mph of a very respectable 3.8 seconds, but it does lose the coupe’s rear wing and front splitter for better airflow. The folding roof on the Roadster is a manual affair, but Lotus say fresh air motoring is just ‘Two clicks and a roll away’, so the manual roof is probably the best – and lightest – option.
