2012 BMW 6-series coupe revealed in production trim
Sat, 12 Mar 2011Following an initial preview in a lightly veiled concept car shown at the Paris motor show, BMW has finally revealed the definitive production version of the 6-series coupe. Set to get its first public airing at the Shanghai motor show in April, the upmarket coupe is planned to follow the 6-series convertible into North American showrooms later this year, providing BMW with a contemporary two-door to rival the Jaguar XK and the Mercedes-Benz E-class coupe. Thu, 01 Nov 2012As Jaguar and Land Rover expand their model range and move to aluminium construction, they plan to share more platforms. Jaguar has been using an aluminium platform for the XJ for some time – long before the latest XJ came along. The aluminium platform the XJ uses is just the start for Jaguar Land Rover, as we reported back in 2009, and it seems that JLR are planning to use the move to aluminium underpinnings to cut their platforms to just two or three.
College Exhibition: IAAD - 'My First Renault'
Mon, 11 Sep 2006Transportation Design students at Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) in Turin presented the results of a Renault-sponsored project with the theme 'My First Renault' in July. The students were given a fairly open brief to design a personal vision of a Renault vehicle of the near future. In addition to an exhibition in Turin, selected project work was presented at the Renault Technocentre to the directors of Renault Design.
