Subscription-free weather for the iPad

Garmin was first to introduce datalink weather for portable devices over a decade ago, forever changing the way pilots fly. Now Garmin is bringing the benefits of in-flight weather to your iPad – without a monthly subscription. The new GDL 39 is a compact, portable ADS-B receiver that delivers weather, traffic and GPS information to the cockpit all in one package.

FEATURES:

  • Subscription-free ADS-B weather, including animated NEXRAD radar, METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, TFRs and more
  • Dual band receiver (978 UAT and 1090 ES) allows for reception of ADS-B traffic, with Garmin's TargetTrend display
  • Built-in WAAS GPS delivers accurate position data for moving map features
  • Bluetooth connection to your iPad allows for two devices to wirelessly connect simultaneously
  • View complete status information in the Garmin Pilot app
  • The optional battery is included in this package

Requires Garmin Pilot app to work with iPad or Android devices.

Requires cigarette lighter cable (included, works with 12 or 24 volt systems) or battery pack (included) for operation. ADS-B coverage varies by location and altitude – does not work on the ground in most locations. Coverage not available outside US.

Not all traffic will be shown; coverage will vary based on equipment and nearby aircraft. In order to maximize available traffic information for the display, the aircraft should also be equipped with a compliant ADS-B Out solution.

This auction is for a Garmin GDL 39. All items in the photos are included. GDL 39, Garmin Rechargeable Battery,Garmin Switching power supply,Cigarette charger plug,Garmin Bag and external antenna cable.

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

Volvo's Concept CX Coupé has been revealed in a set of images ahead of its debut at January's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The crossover SUV is the second of three concepts to be developed with Volvo's new design language under vice president of design Thomas Ingenlath, following the launch of the Volvo Concept Coupé in Frankfurt earlier this year. It's understood the new XC90 is coming next year and so this concept is certain to feature some of the elements we can expect to see on the production model.

New Maserati Kubang SUV (2012) arrives at Frankfurt

Tue, 13 Sep 2011

New Maserati Kubang We’ve been predicting the arrival of a Maserati SUV for some time, but the recent launch of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee made it almost certain. And today the new Maserati Kubang arrives at Frankfurt, to the consternation of all Maserati fan boys. But whatever the fans of the marque may say, an SUV from Maserati is a very clever move.

Illegal school parking 'should be fined'

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

DRIVERS who park illegally when dropping off or collecting their children from school should be fined. A large number of drivers (86%) say they agree with trials by councils to catch school run drivers who park on zig-zag lines at pedestrian crossings, even if they stop for only a few seconds. Several local councils, including Enfield in north London and York boroughs, are now using CCTV cameras to capture illegal parking.
