With a GDL 88 Datalink, the GNS 430W can display ADS-B traffic targets using TIS-A symbology, as well as subscription-free FIS-B weather information -– including graphical NEXRAD radar, METARs and TAFs. With an optional subscription to XM WX Satellite Weather and the addition of a GDL™ 69 series datalink receiver, you’ll have access to high resolution weather for the U.S., right in the cockpit. NEXRAD, METARs, TAFs and lightning information can be overlaid on Jeppesen and topographic map databases. With an additional subscription, GDL 69A delivers SiriusXM Satellite Radio to your aircraft. Add the GTX 330 Mode S transponder, and GNS 430W will also display Traffic Information Services (TIS) alerts that identify surrounding air traffic.

Last night before CES opened here in Las Vegas we met the principals of a start-up company called Driver Cloud. They said they had an idea about using the cloud to operate a package delivery service the same way other sites do ride sharing – you'd send out a notice on their network that you needed a package delivered and a bonded, licensed Driver Cloud truck owner would deliver it for you for a fee. The service, called Gofr, would work in conjunction with Driver Cloud's ride sharing component, called Chofr.

Fisker Karma Review Video
Finally, after a rather lengthy wait, the Fisker Karma is making its way in to the hands of real customers. And real cars means the opportunity to review the Karma, something a US Fisker dealer has put on video. Of course, a video review of Henrik Fisker’s baby from a franchised dealer – even when they get a pro driver to do it – is perhaps never going to be the most objective piece of reporting ever seen, but it does at least give us the opportunity for a real-world view of the Karma.

That’s because the clever use of a plug-in electric motor coupled with a relatively frugal ICE engine – in the case of the S500 Plug-in a 329bhp 3.0 litre V6 and 80kW electric motor – produce official economy and emissions figures that are really only valid under test conditions but save a big chunk of tax for buyers.
