GM files plan for stock offering

General Motors Co., moving to unwind itself from government control, on Wednesday filed plans to go public and begin selling common shares as early as this fall. The filing--anticipated for weeks--came just 13 months after GM was restructured in bankruptcy with $50 billion in direct aid from the U.S. government.

Cross-country in a Corvette Stingray: Conclusion

The final leg of our cross-country Corvette trip took us from Detroit to Charlevoix, Mich. -- about 45 minutes north of our birthplace, Traverse City. Winners announced in 2011 Car Design Awards competition

The finalists had all entered a contest which asked them to create a design against one of eight briefs coming from both domestic and global OEMs. The awards ceremony, which was held at the Shanghai auto museum, included delegates and judges from domestic and international OEMs and finalist students.
