Garmin GPS 400

Sale includes Garmin GPS-400, tray, connectors, antenna, manual, and Commander docking station.

I have been learning to use the 400 at home by mounting it in a Commander docking station, which I bought last December for $249 from Aircraft Spruce. The GPS-400 works perfectly. However, I've decided that it's a bit more hitech than my Cherokee needs.

The docking station will be shipped separately

Free shipping for both.

Here's a portion of Garmin.com's description of the unit:

Enhance Situational Awareness: GPS 400 seamlessly integrates built-in terrain and navigation databases, providing a clear, concise picture of where you are and where you’re heading. The 400's huge Jeppesen® database, updated with front-loading data cards, contains location reference for all airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections, Flight Service Stations, published approaches, SIDs/STARs, Special Use Airspace and geopolitical boundaries. A detailed basemap clearly shows airports, cities, highways, railroads, rivers, lakes, coastlines and more. Using information from the built-in terrain and U.S. obstacles databases, the 400 displays color coding to graphically alert you when proximity conflicts loom ahead.”

Dany Bahar wants £6.7 million compensation from Lotus

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

The Dany Bahar saga at Lotus continues with Bahar claiming £6.7 million compensation for his firing as Lotus CEO. Back in May, ex-Ferrari man Dany Bahar was ousted as CEO of Lotus, confirmed a month later by Lotus parent DBR-Hicom who appointed Aslam Farikullah – an engineer, not a marketing man – to oversee a way forward for Lotus, and just last week Lotus put Bahar’s custom Esprit up for sale. But that appears not to be the end of dealings between DBR-Hicom and Bahar as Bahar has issued proceedings against his former employers seeking compensation of £6.7 million for wrongful dismissal.

The retro revival in the small car sector is lead by the Fiat 500 and the Mini. Both have been a success, but present different characters. The Mini is, when you get to the nitty-gritty, a very good BMW update of the original Issigonis Mini.
