You are bidding on a brand new Garmin GPSMAP 521 Chartplotter. This unit is brand new in the original box. I am an authorized Garmin Retailer as well.

The GPSMAP 521 is a compact chartplotter that features an ultra-bright 5" (12.7 cm) QVGA color display along with an improved high-speed digital design for increased map drawing and panning speeds. It’s ready to go with a built-in, satellite-enhanced worldwide basemap and an easy-to-use interface designed to help you navigate the open waters with ease. The GPSMAP 521 also accepts BlueChart® g2 Vision® cards (sold separately) for added features and functionality such as high-resolution satellite imagery, 3-D views and Auto Guidance technology.

View Satellite-enhanced Worldwide Basemap

The GPSMAP 521 basemap contains worldwide satellite images in place of traditional maps. The GPSMAP 521 also comes standard with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for superior satellite tracking and quicker acquisition times. In addition, the GPSMAP 521 can receive U.S. graphical weather data via optional GXM™ 51 satellite receiver/antenna (sold separately). And with an SD™ card slot, it’s easy to add additional maps without connecting to a computer.

Add Extras with BlueChart g2 Vision

With the optional BlueChart g2 Vision SD card, you can add a whole new dimension of exceptional features to your chartplotter.

  • MarinerEye view and FishEye view provide you a 3-D perspective of map information, both above and below the waterline.
  • High-resolution satellite images and aerial photographs help you orient yourself in unfamiliar areas.
  • Auto Guidance technology searches through all relevant charts to create a route you can actually follow — one that avoids obstacles, shallow water, buoys and other obstructions.

Drayson Racing set new electric car speed record

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Lord Paul Drayson (pictured) celebrating a new electric car land speed record Last month we reported that Lord Paul Drayson’s Drayson Racing were plotting an attack on the world land speed record for an electric car. And they’ve cracked it. In a two-way run at Elvington, Yorkshire, Lord Paul Drayson – Drayson Racing’s CEO and former science minister – was behind the wheel of the Drayson B12 69/EV as it completed two mile long runs in the space of an hour to record an average – and new World Record (for its class) – of 204.185mph.

Mitsubishi i-Miev: The Fat-Boy version for the US

Tue, 09 Nov 2010

The Mitsubishi i-Miev grows in size for the US It’s a big enough problem getting the UK and Europe to buy in to the idea of a very small city car, much less one powered by an electric motor with all the power of a glorified washing machine (exaggerates for effect). It’s even more difficult when your first stab at pricing comes out at nearly £40k. From that shaky start Mitsubishi has gone on the offensive with their electric city car – the Mitsubishi i-Miev.

Vauxhall Adam Rocks – it’s a butch Adam Cabrio Crossover

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The new Vauxhall Adam is about to spawn a cabrio crossover version based on the first official sketches of the Vauxhall Adam Rocks Concept. But it seems Vauxhall are not content with just having a funky little urban runaround to flog, they want to get in on the butch mini urban crossover market too. Or that certainly appears to be the aim looking at Vauxhall’s latest Adam project – the Vauxhall Adam Rocks.
