Fisker to face Congressional committee probe

Henrik Fisker's congressional testimony on Wednesday before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will paint the automaker he founded as a victim of "a confluence of events" and as a still-salvageable enterprise. Fisker, who resigned from Fisker Automotive on March 13, is among the automaker and government representatives scheduled to appear before Congress to answer questions regarding $193 million in Department of Energy loans made to the company. Fisker Automotive has appeared to be on the brink of filing for bankruptcy for the past few weeks.

Toyota has upgraded the spec on the Toyota Yaris TR The changes to the new Toyota Yaris TR move it up the range towards the T-Spirit. There are ten Yaris TR models in the range (prices and detail at the bottom) and all get an upgraded spec. The Toyota Yaris TR now gets 15″ Eught-Spoke Alloys (just like the T-Spirit), AirCon, electric windows and mirrors, 6-speaker sound system (just 4 on the 1.0 VVTi), leather wheel with audio controls, leather gear shift trim and adjustable steering wheel.

GM sells Suzuki shares to raise emergency funds

The General owns a 3% holding in Suzuki Motor Corporation and will sell 16,413,000 shares on the open market tomorrow. Based on today’s values, GM will raise an estimated £154 million through the sale, although Suzuki will exercise an option to buy back an equivalent number of its own shares in treasury stock.
