Description: Garmin GTX 327 panel-mounted transponder with the addition of altitude reporting and timing
functions. The transponder is a radio transmitter and receiver that operates on radar frequencies, receiving
ground radar or TCAS interrogations at 1030 MHz and transmitting a coded response of pulses to ground based
radar on a frequency of 1090 MHz.

As with other Mode A/Mode C transponders, the GTX 327 replies with any one of 4,096 codes, which
differ in the position and number of pulses transmitted. By replying to ground transmissions or TCAS
interrogations, the GTX 327 enables ATC to display aircraft identification, altitude and groundspeed on
ATC radar screens or TCAS traffic indicators. The GTX 327 is equipped with IDENT capability that
activates the Special Position Identification (SPI) pulse for 18 seconds.

The GTX 327 is configured with all key controls. The layout of the front panel keys and displays
segregates the transponder's primary functions from the secondary timing

Ford Taurus SHO-stopper in Chicago?

Thu, 05 Feb 2009

The new Ford Taurus SHO is shaping up to be a sleeper. Spy shooters have caught what appears to be the performance version of the new Ford flagship--and it looks almost exactly the same as the regular car. There's a SHO badge on the back--which is stickered over--and uh, nothing else.

Plea for 'no drink if driving' this summer

Mon, 11 Aug 2014

AN APPEAL has been made to drivers in the UK not to touch a drop of alcohol if they are going to drive. The call comes as data from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) shows that one in fifteen drivers breath-tested were over the legal limit. Road safety charity Brake has made the plea after figures released by ACPO shows that its national anti-drink-drive campaign in June carried out 63,688 breath tests and 4108 proved positive for excess alcohol or refused a breath test.

Nissan LEAF: UK prices

Mon, 17 May 2010

The Nissan LEAF EV will sell at £21,350 in the UK after subsidies are taken in to account Agree with their focus – some would say obsession - or not, you can’t help but admire Nissan’s intentions to make the electric car a mainstream reality. It’s a big commitment and a bold move which could actually make or break Nissan in the coming years, in the same way as the hybrid obsession at Lexus. But putting aside the business sense of a headlong tilt in to electric cars, we have to admit that the headline price for the Nissan LEAF in the UK – just announced as £23,350 (after taking in to account Government incentives) – is a very competitive price point.
