Garrett TO4E 60-Trim/ Stage III Blueprinted CHRA (500 HP)


       Here we have a specially blueprinted CHRA for a 60-trim hybrid Garrett turbocharger.  Exclusive Turbosystems applies its proprietary tweaks to the turbine shaft, backing plate, bearings and thrust plate.  No component is left un-touched.  The genuine Garrett 718 Inconel alloy STG III turbine shaft has polished journal surfaces for low friction contact with the bearings.  Both shaft support bearings have a full circumference oil groove to provide 360 degree lubrication of the turbine shaft journal surface.  Thrust plate receives modified oil ports for increased lubrication flow and cooling capacity.  This is no ordinary 270 degree thrust bearing CHRA either, it has been upgraded with a heavy-duty 360 degree thrust component setup for the ultimate in high boost pressure durability.  It also has its surfaces polished for reduced friction and vastly improved thrust load capacity.  The combination of these modifications results in an impressive 35% reduction in internal friction and a corresponding drop in spool-up of the rotor group.  No other turbo manufacturer offers such a combination of improvements in CHRA bearing dynamics.  We also fully polish the backing plate surface adjacent to the compressor wheel exducer so that airflow has an ultra-smooth path into the housing chamber.  Even the turbine shaft oil seal is a specially selected staggered-gap design for reduced oil pollution of the gas flow and potential carbon build-up.  Not your average 50-trim CHRA here!  The turbine shaft, compressor wheel, backing plate, and housing are all brand new parts.  Will only work in genuine garrett turbine and compressor housings.  Will spool up about 150 rpm sooner than a factory CHRA of the same specification and will yield a 5 HP gain as well.  Ported housings will improve these numbers even further.  Feel free to ask us about providing this service as well.

2012 Mercedes B Class - In dealers for Road Test in December With the latest Mercedes B Class having arrived at Frankfurt in September, Mercedes-Benz are now gearing up for customer tests from mid-December. As you can’t have failed to notice, the 2012 Mercedes B Class arrived at this years Frankfurt Motor Show, complete with a raft of detail and even more photos and video. We reported a week or so ago that Mercedes was now in Campaign mode with the new B-Class, and we even had some new photos and a new video – all the better to entice customers in to their local MB dealers to have a look and a play.

Opel Trixx concept for the Geneva Motor Show

Opel/Vauxhall has released first details of the Trixx small car concept to be shown at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Martin Smith, Opel/Vauxhall executive director of design, says: "Trixx shows our vision of an innovative, ultra-compact car in the three-metre-class, with an expressive, exciting design, and meets a variety of mobility requirements with its clever, highly versatile interior concept." Trixx has an inflatable rear seat, sliding electric doors, and a push-button roof hatch that allows it to carry extra-long objects upright. The versatile car can carry up to three adults and a child, and as a one-seater it turns into a substantial load carrier.
