This is a low mile Garrett GT3582R taken off of an RB25 Nissan engine, that made 412rwhp running at only 14psi. I have since moved on to a V8 swap, and no longer need it. It has oil and coolant passages in the center section.  I'm not a huge turbo guy, but these are some things I found on the web about it...

This dual ball bearing turbo has a capacity of 600HP. The default inlet is the traditional T3 flange with a GT 4-bolt discharge. The default compressor housing is a Large T04S with 4.0" inlet and 2.5" outlet. The GT35R is designed for high HP applications. Good for 4-6 cylinder engines, or as twins on large V8s.

 Specs:

  • Turbine
    • Wheel: 68mm / 84 trim
    • Housings: .63 A/R, .82 A/R, 1.06 A/R
  • Compressor
    • Wheel: 82mm w/ 56 trim
    • Housing: .70 A/R
It has a miniscule amount of shaft play, but has been off the car for a few years now (no oil).  The compressor wheel and the turbine are nowhere near touching the housing, and the shaft spins extremely easy.  This is what Garrett has to say about it...

Q. How much shaft play should my dual ball bearing turbo have?
A. The Garrett full ball-bearing turbo is designed to have clearance between the bearing cartridge and center housing for hydrodynamic damping in addition to the internal clearances of the bearing cartridge itself. Hydrodynamic damping uses the incompressible properties of a liquid (oil in this case) and the space around the bearing cartridge to dampen the shaft motion of the rotating assembly. When the turbo is new, or has not operated for a long period of time allowing most of the oil to drain out, the rotating assembly will move more in the radial direction than a typical journal-bearing turbo because there is no oil in the center housing. This condition is normal. As long as the shaft wheel spins freely and the wheels don't contact their respective housings, the assembly will function properly.

If you were to buy this turbo new, it would start at around $1400.  My reserve for this excellent condition used turbo is right around half of that (and less than my Buy it Now price).  Don't be fooled by cheap Chinese turbos, this is genuine Garrett.  ITEM IS BEING SOLD AS IS.  NO WARRANTIES ARE EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  NO RETURNS. Buyer is to pay actual shipping charge.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Good luck and happy bidding!

Skoda number one for customer service

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

There’s seemingly no end in sight for the rise and continued rise of the Skoda brand. Fresh from the Superb and Yeti being named as the UK’s top two most satisfying cars to own, Skoda has now been named the number one automotive brand for customer service. The company topped the automotive tables in July’s UK Customer Satisfaction Index Summary (UKCSI), produced by the Institute of Customer Service.

Saab Phoenix concept (2011) at 2011 Geneva motor show

Tue, 01 Mar 2011

Saab issued one of the few genuine surprises of the Geneva show: the Phoenix concept car, designed to show the newly independent brand's stylistic future. Named after the Phoenix platform underpinning many of the company's future products including next year's new 9-3, the concept car is a dramatic coupe. It's the first car designed by Jason Castriota, the new design chief.

Hamann introduces Mission body kit for BMW M5

Tue, 09 Apr 2013

Hamann Motorsport isn't known for being subtle. When it isn't pumping up G-Wagens and Porsches, it's tie-dying a McLaren MP4-12C. Its newest package starts with the already aggressive-looking BMW M5, then slices up the bodywork in typical Hamann fashion.
