Lexus RX450h – UK ready
Wed, 27 May 2009The Lexus RX450h - the Lexus 4x4 Hybrid - is now on sale in the UK No one can deny that Lexus bolt a car together very well. So if you’re looking for a well-made, luxurious, quiet car that’s not necessarily inspiring to drive then Lexus is a good starting point. And if you want a luxury 4×4/SUV, but can’t bear the disapprobation of the tree-huggers and eco-loonies, then this is an equally good place to start.
The most expensive cars ever: Ferrari 250 GTO sells for $38 million
Fri, 15 Aug 2014By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 15 August 2014 10:19 A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta sold overnight for a record $38,115,000 (£22,528,626) at the prestigious Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction held during Monterey Car Week. At a stroke, the Ferrari has become the most valuable car in the world, overtaking the 1954 Mercedes W196 R F1 Racer which sold for $30m at an auction at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Tellingly, seven of the top 10 most expensive cars ever sold at auction were Ferraris (see our list below).
Nissan LEAF becomes London Taxi
Tue, 26 Jun 2012Nissan has been ferrying Londoners and tourists round the capital in the Nissan LEAF EV free of charge as part of its ‘Big Turn On’ campaign. Yesterday we reported that a Nissan LEAF was going to go backwards up the hillcimb at Goodwood in a bid for a reversing speed record, and to draw attention to the LEAF’s strengths as part of Nissan’s ‘Big Turn On’ campaign. We’re not too sure how being able to go backwards as quickly as you can forwards in a LEAF is a big selling point, but Nissan’s stunt in London this week is far more relevant – they’ve been offering fee taxi rides in the electric LEAF to tourists and Londoners alike.
