Audi A6 Hybrid will arrive in mid 2012
Sun, 24 Jul 2011Audi A6 Hybrid - arrives in the UK & Europe mid 2012 Audi released all the bumph on the 2011 A6 at the end of 2010, and we’d expected that they would deliver up the Audi A6 Hybrid by the end of this year at the latest. After all, car makers need to have an eco-halo car in each of their model ranges to be squeaky-green (or so they seem to think), and with all the hybrid gubbins for the A6 being nicked from the Q5 hybrid we thought it would a racing certainty that Audi would bring it to market this year. But it’s not happening.
Volvo reveals C30 BEV electric car
Thu, 17 Sep 2009By Tom Sharpe First Official Pictures 17 September 2009 11:44 Battery power is back on the menu at Volvo with this, a C30 plug-in hybrid. The electric Volvo C30 BEV wasn’t at Frankfurt, and the Swedes announced the zero-emissions runaround today – along with details of a 92-mile range, 80mph top speed and 0-62mph sprint of less than 11 seconds. The BEV stands for Battery Electric Vehicle and Volvo’s new plug-in hybrid could be introduced to the C30 range by 2012, bosses say.
Vauxhall ADAM with new 1.0 ECOTEC 3-Cylinder engine will debut at Geneva
Mon, 17 Feb 2014The Vauxhall ADAM (pictured) gets the new 1.0 litre 3-pot ECOTEC engine At the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Vauxhall announced they would be offering the Vauxhall Adam with their new 1.0 litre 3-cylinder ECOTEC engine in 2014, and we now know it will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month before going on sale in the spring. The new 1.0 ECOTEC 3-Cylinder engine is Vauxhall’s answer to Ford’s 1.0 litre EcoBoost proliferating across Ford’s range, and if it’s half as good as Ford’s unit it should make the 3-pot Adam a fun and appealing option. Available in two states of tune – 89bhp or 113bhp – with both delivering 122lb/ft of torque and with a new 6-speed manual ‘box that’s 30 per cent lighter, the new engine delivers 30 per cent more torque than Vauxhall’s 1.6 litre petrol but can manage 62mpg and emissions of 99g/km for the 89bhp version.
