Vauxhall Mokka SUV price from £16,995
Fri, 08 Jun 2012The sub-comp[act SUV Vauxhall Mokka is now on sale in the UK in three trim levels with a choice of three engines from £16,995. First customer cars in November 2012. The official debut for the Vauxhall Mokka (which retains the German spelling of 'Mocha' for its name) was the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, although by then we already knew what was on offer. That's because not only had Vauxhall / Opel divvied up photos of the Mokka in January, we'd also had the Buick Encore revealed in the States which is, to all intents and purposes, a Mokka with an Uncle Sam badge.
Jaguar crossover concept (2013) the first teaser shot
Mon, 02 Sep 2013What looks like a screen grab from Sin City is in fact our first official glimpse of the new Jaguar crossover. The jacked-up, coupe-like CX-17 is one of two new models on the way from Gaydon, the other being the ‘X760’-codenamed 3-series rivalling sports saloon. Argh, not another teaser picture… We don’t like them any more than you do, but in this case we’ll allow the Jaguar through the net.
Algae-powered street lights eat CO2
Fri, 04 May 2012Algae powered street lighting (great Photoshop) A French biochemist – Pierre Calleja – has developed a street lighting system using micro algae that absorbs CO2. The need to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere is contentious - to say the least – but as long as governments use CO2 as a stick to beat motorists and empty their bank accounts it’s sensible to look at ways of ‘balancing’ the CO2 emissions of cars. French biochemist Pierre Calleja thinks he’s come up with a solution that would neutralise CO2 emissions from cars by cancelling it out with his micro-algae lighting.
