Garrett TO4E 57 Trim/ Stage I Blueprinted CHRA (450 HP)

Here we have a specially blueprinted CHRA for a 57-trim hybrid Garrett turbocharger.  Exclusive Turbosystems applies its proprietary tweaks to the turbine shaft, backing plate, bearings and thrust plate.  No component is left un-touched.  The STG I turbine shaft has polished journal surfaces for low friction contact with the bearings.  Both shaft support bearings have a full circumference oil groove to provide 360 degree lubrication of the turbine shaft journal surface.  Thrust plate receives modified oil ports for increased lubrication flow and cooling capacity.  It also has its surfaces polished for reduced friction and vastly improved thrust load capacity.  The combination of these modifications results in an impressive 35% reduction in internal friction and a corresponding drop in spool-up of the rotor group.  No other turbo manufacturer offers such a combination of improvements in CHRA bearing dynamics.  We also fully polish the backing plate surface adjacent to the compressor wheel exducer so that airflow has an ultra-smooth path into the housing chamber.  Even the turbine shaft oil seal is a specially selected staggered-gap design for reduced oil pollution of the gas flow and potential carbon build-up.  Not your average 57-trim CHRA here!  The turbine shaft, compressor wheel, backing plate, and housing are all GENUINE GARRETT parts.  Will only work in genuine garrett turbine and compressor housings.  Will spool up about 150 rpm sooner than a factory CHRA of the same specification and will yield a 5 HP gain as well.  Ported housings will improve these numbers further.  Feel free to ask us about providing this service as well.

Fisker reborn as The New Fisker

Fri, 07 Mar 2014

The assets of Fisker may now belong to China's auto parts giant Wanxiang, but reports of the brand's demise have been greatly exaggerated. It was earlier believed that along with the technology and the debt that Wanxiang would be taking on, one thing they wouldn't get is the Fisker brand name itself. After all, in the relatively short history of struggling western automotive brands that have been bought up by Chinese automakers, brand names haven't always been part of the deal.

Saab files for Bankruptcy

Mon, 19 Dec 2011

Saab Bankrupt It looks like Victor Muller’s dream of saving Saab is over with Saab shares suspended and the company filing for bankruptcy. Saab has produced nothing since April and has lurched from crisis to crisis ever since. Victor Muller has pulled every trick he knows – and some he didn’t know he knew – to keep Saab afloat, but it looks like it’s all for nothing.

Cleveland Institute of Art - Nissan project

Wed, 18 Feb 2009

Nissan sponsored a semester-long project for the Cleveland Institute of Art at the end of last year. The project guidelines were to create a 'truck', which was defined as a vehicle that has some form of utility, for the year 2020. While some students decided to create more traditional truck designs, others chose to redefine what utility meant while others created projects that would appeal to very specific niche markets.
