Garrett TO4B V-Trim/ Stage I Blueprinted CHRA (450 HP)

Here we have a specially blueprinted CHRA for a V-trim hybrid Garrett turbocharger.  Exclusive Turbosystems applies its proprietary tweaks to the turbine shaft, backing plate, bearings and thrust plate.  No component is left un-touched.  The STG I turbine shaft has polished journal surfaces for low friction contact with the bearings.  Both shaft support bearings have a full circumference oil groove to provide 360 degree lubrication of the turbine shaft journal surface.   One of the modifications that sets this CHRA apart from others is the inclusion of a full 360 degree thrust plate and collar set.  This ensures durability with elevated boost loads that usually accompany motorsports use.  The thrust plate also receives modified oil ports for increased lubrication flow and cooling capacity.  It even has its surfaces polished for reduced friction and further improved thrust load capacity.  The combination of these modifications results in an impressive 35% reduction in internal friction and a corresponding drop in spool-up of the rotor group.  No other turbo manufacturer offers such a combination of improvements in CHRA bearing dynamics.  We also fully polish the backing plate surface adjacent to the compressor wheel exducer so that airflow has an ultra-smooth path into the housing scroll outlet chamber.  We have worked some magic with this V-trim CHRA for sure!

This CHRA is full of GENUINE GARRETT parts so you can be sure of its performance, fit, and durability.  Will only work in genuine garrett turbine and compressor housings.  These compressor wheels excel in efficiency at modest boost pressures in between 15 psi and 25 psi.  Really smooth midrange performance with this hybrid rotor group.  As tweaked by us at exclusive Turbosystems, it will spool up about 150 rpm sooner than a factory CHRA of the same specification and will yield a 5 HP gain as well.  Ported housings will improve these numbers further.  Feel free to ask us about providing this service as well.

Spyker warns that Saab's future is 'uncertain' without fresh funds

Fri, 01 Apr 2011

Spyker Cars NV, the Dutch parent of Saab, said the Swedish automaker's financial situation is worsening and warned that Saab's future is at risk without additional financing. In its annual report released today, Spyker said the company's "continuity" could become uncertain unless it secures extra funds to finance ongoing operations and the execution of its business plan. Earlier this week, Saab was forced to shut down production for short intervals after key suppliers halted parts deliveries for non-payment.

70% of premium brand cars stolen are taken with the car’s own keys

Thu, 03 Apr 2014

High-end SUVs – like the new Range Rover (pictured) are a prime target for car key thieves There was once a time when all it took to steal a car was a wire coathanger and the ability to hotwire the ignition. But as car makers have got better at securing the second most expensive asset most of us will ever own, car thieves have had to look for a different approach, and that approach is increasingly to relieve owners of the keys to their pride and joy. Cobra – the vehicle tracking firm – are reporting that a massive 70 per cent of all premium brand cars stolen in 2014 – with an average value of £40k, up £6k on 2012 – are being parted from their owners using that owners keys.

Suzuki refreshes Swift with five-door Sport and 4x4 model

Tue, 09 Jul 2013

Suzuki is offering its cracking little warm hatch, the Swift Sport, with five doors for 2013. The family-friendly model shares its powertrain with the three-door Swift CAR ran (and loved) as a long termer last year – that means a naturally aspirated, 1.6-litre engine good for 134bhp, a six-speed manual gearbox and 0-62mph in 8.7sec. Suzuki says it expects one-third of Swift Sport customers to opt for the five-door model – sales have so far averaged 1200 a year in the UK.
