Citroën invites design ideas via Facebook
Wed, 04 Apr 2012Citroën has launched a Facebook app calling for users to select design features for what it calls a special edition car, the first crowdsourced car in the UK. Rather than the genuinely design-led competitions we've seen recently from Renault (Twizy) and Citroën's own DS3, ‘You Like It, We Make It', offers six configurations such as exterior and interior color scheme, technology options like Bluetooth and SatNav, alloys, and the number of doors the vehicle has. The Citroeën C1 Connexion special edition will be kitted out with the most popular ideas and those participating via the app will be in with a chance of winning the car when it goes on sale later in the year.
Ford Focus 1.0 litre Ecoboost arrives
Mon, 30 Jan 2012The 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine arrives in the 2012 Ford Focus Ford has announced that the new Focus is now available with the 1.0 litre Ecoboost 3-cylinder engine in 100 PS and 125 PS options. Back in September, Ford revealed that it planned to install its new pocket-sized engine – the new 3-cylinder 1.0 litre Ecoboost – in to the new Ford Focus, giving the Focus the power of a naturally aspirated 1.6 litre petrol, but with improved economy and lower emissions. And now it’s arrived.
Jaguar XKR175 Coupe Debuts at Pebble Beach
Thu, 12 Aug 2010The Jaguar XKR175 - to celebrate 75 years of Jaguar If you read the report we recently did about Jaguar celebrating its 75th anniversary by launching the Limited Edition Jaguar XKR75 in to Europe, you could be forgiven for thinking that either the headline is a mistake or Jaguar has had a quick recalculate and realised they’d actually been in business for a century more than they thought. But if you reached that perfectly reasonable conclusion, you’d be wrong. In the UK and Europe Jaguar decide that the car to celebrate 75 years should be called the 75 and be produced in that number – so 75 are being made.
