Galpin to debut 1,000-hp supercar at Pebble Beach
Thu, 25 Jul 2013Evidently, somebody at Galpin Auto Sports took a look at the dearly missed Ford GT -- there must have been one in their showroom -- and muttered out loud, "You know, this car just isn't rare or powerful enough." Mon, 15 Nov 2010Lamborghini today announced the first details of its new V12 engine and transmission, which Lamborghini president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann promises will be 'the strong heart of the Murcielago successor next year.' It's to be the first clean-sheet Lamborghini engine since the original V12 first appeared in the 350GT, nearly 50 years ago. Lamborghini is keen to promote the low weight yet high performance of the new V12, which produces 700bhp yet tips the scales at only 235kg. Sant'Agata has also announced a new transmission for the Murcielago successor.
Seat celebrates 60 years of production
Thu, 14 Nov 2013SPANISH car maker Seat has this week celebrated its 60th anniversary, releasing pictures dating back to its very first model, the 1400. Six decades have now passed since the first 1400 rolled off the production line, when the brand new company was inundated with 10,000 orders following the end of petrol rationing in Spain. With so much production demand Seat was able to drop the initial price of 121,875 to a more reasonable 117,000 pesetas, or what would have been about £590 at the time.
