Extremely rare unassigned GNX turbo. There is no looseness in the turbine. The cleanliness of the unit suggests it was not on any vehicle very long.

I have been asked by a wealth friend to sell this item. He has told me he bought this unit from McClaren/ASC back in the 1980 and it has been sitting in dry storage ever since. The story I have been told is that it was used at McClaren/ASC inhouse, for testing and that it was a unit that was never assigned to a car. I contacted Doug Nigro at the GNX registry and his email response confirm the history given to me by the owner. Mr. Nigro said:

Thanks for your inquiry.  Yes, it is a GNX turbocharger plate and serial.

Unfortunately, on initial review of records, that number does not seem to correspond with a built GNX - perhaps it was an unused leftover.  I will investigate further.

The owner of this unit owns a large automotive aftermarket glass company and has lots of contacts in the automotive arena, which I am sure is how the acquired this unit.

Several rules apply to this sale:

1)   This item is "Local pickup" only
2)   The unit will not be sold before prospective buyer examines the unit in person or through his agent, because all sales are final
3)   I am not opposed to going with prospective buyer to have the unit tested, if possible.
4)   Only cash or other agreed upon payment modes will be accepted
5)   I will look at all offers (except that I put an "auto-reject" to filter prank offers)
6)   Any "Buy It Now" purchases without prior inspections will be canceled

Fritz Henderson and the guy he replaced at the top of General Motors, Rick Wagoner, both speak Portuguese. But that may be where the similarities end when it comes to the words spoken by the former CEO and his newly elevated successor. Skoda is taking this Rapid Sport concept to the 2013 Wörthersee show. The cosmetically hotted-up Rapid is the latest VW Group car to get a modified version for the Wörthersee enthusiast’s show, though CAR hears the Rapid won’t get a production performance version. What puts the ‘Sport’ into the Skoda Rapid Sport concept?
