60mph M1 motorway speed limit proposed

The government has announced a proposal to lower the motorway speed limit from 70mph to 60mph over a 32-mile stretch of the M1. The plan, which has just been put out to consultation, would lower the speed limit to 60mph between junction 28, near Matlock in Derbyshire, to junction 35a, north of Rotherham – in a bid to improve air quality by reducing vehicle emissions. Toyota Winglet concept (2008): first pictures

By Tom Richards First Official Pictures 04 August 2008 14:33 Toyota has just unveiled the ‘Winglet’, one of its ‘people-assisting Partner Robots’.  It isn’t exactly a car per se, but it has wheels, a motor, and it is a valid alternative to walking. It even has its own ‘trim’ levels – ‘S’, ‘M’ and ‘L’ (from left to right in our pictures). These range from ‘practical’ (with the long handle) to ‘hands-free sporty’.

Citroen DS5 – First video tease?

Citroen DS5 Hybrid diesel electric – is the video below the tease for the concept? Despite our original scepticism (grumpy old man syndrome) that Citroen were intent on wrecking their history by cashing in on the DS tag – and badge engineering prosaic product with an iconic badge – we’ve been pretty much won over by the first offering from the upmarket DS range – the Citroen DS3. So we were happy to see Citroen pushing forward with the next in line- the DS4 -with its DS4 / High Rider Concept which we saw at Geneva earlier this year.
