Tue, 13 Jan 2009They took with them the usual holiday toys, but they remembered to pack a nice new Jaguar XFR, with a few mods necessary to run at Bonneville (roll cage, fire extinguishers, etc). They had a little fiddle with the ECU to derestrict it (and yield 600bhp) but, it is claimed, made no further mods apart from adding a spoiler at the back to stop the XFR taking off on the Salt Flats’ wide open spaces. But Mercedes are far from finished extending the S-Class franchise, and we’ve got two more versions of the S-Class Saloon – the Maybach and Pullman – still to come, and the arrival of the S-Class Convertible still to come. And now it looks like the S-Class Maybach – effectively a replacement for the ill-fated Maybach brand – is getting closer to debut with this S-Class Maybach spotted testing at the Nurburgring.

Mon, 19 Mar 2012Dongfeng Aeolus A60 is set to go on sale in the Chinese market this month for the first time. The car, which uses the platform of the Dongfeng Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, features large headlamps that flank the chrome-topped front grille, creating a DRG reminiscent of its predecessor, the Aeolus A30 as well as some European and American sedans. A rising beltline runs from front to rear, lengthening the appearance of the car and addin a more dynamic character to waht is a very conventinal three-box sedan.
