Top Gear Tonight: Porsche 918 Spyder, Golf GTI, BMW M135i, Cycling & Aaron Paul is SIARPC

Aaron Paul (pictured with The Stig) is tonight’s Top Gear Star ina Reasonably Priced Car We’re now close to the end of the run of normal episodes of Top Gear for series 21 with episode 5 tonight, with just a single episode to go plus the ‘Christmas Special’ before the series is over. But tonight we’ll get the second of the new crop of ultimate supercars being tested with Richard Hammond off to the Yas Marina circuit to play with the Porsche 918 Spyder. Will the Porsche 918 Spyder be more impressive and, more importantly, quicker than the incredible McLaren P1 as Hammond gets to grips with its 4.6 litre 600bhp V8 and 275bhp electric motors?

Land Rover tease new Range Rover Sport R / RS – debuts at Goodwood (video)

The new 542bhp Range Rover Sport teased The idea of a more powerful Range Rover Sport – complete with the 542bhp version of the supercharged V8 from the Jaguar XJR and F-Type Coupe – has been around for quite some time, but it’s about to become a reality. Land Rover has revealed a teaser video for the new Sport R – which really shows no more than the spy video of the Sport R we had a year ago – but it does herald the imminent arrival of the new Sport R at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this month. With the 542bhp V8 Supercharged under its bonnet, the Sport R is likely to get much closer to the performance of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, with a 0-62 mph likely to be well under 5 seconds.

Lamborghini Aventador Nazionale debuts in Beijing

Lamborghini used the Beijing auto show to display some its Ad Personam wares on the Aventador LP 700-4. The Nazionale gets a coat of white paint that Lambo calls “bianco opalis” and Italian flag-inspired racing stripes up the middle. The interior leather is done in black and blue.
