  • The oil cooler has a fine matrix inner oil passages that are very effective at transfering heat from the engine oil to the engine coolant. However, the inside of the oil cooler also traps harmful particles commonly found on engines with internal damage. Replacing the oil cooler canister during an engine build or swap is highly recommended since thoroughly cleaning the particles out of the cooler is not always effective or possible
