If you own – or covet – a classic car, especially a Ferrari, then DK Engineering in Chorleywood – just a short drive from Cars UK Towers – is as important an addition to your list of things never to forget as Kylie’s phone number and the location of the missing Bugatti Royale prototype. Founded by David Cottingham, DK Engineering has restored Ferraris for some of the most famous collectors of Maranello’s creations in the world from ‘celeb’ names like Ralph Lauren, Eric Clapton and Chris Evans to industrialists like Sir Anthony Bamford (JCB) and Sir Anthony Pilkington (Pilkington Glass).

Wed, 11 Jun 2014The Mercedes AMG GT revealed with green and black camouflage As we expected, Mercedes is drawing out the tease for the reeval of the new AMG GT – effectively a replacement for the SLS – and milking every detail for more column inches. We’ve had a full reveal of the S-Class inspired interior – a full reveal, not just a few detail shots – and we’ve also had a tease of the AMG GT on video with a few blurry glimpses of the new car dotted throughout. We’ve even had a variation on the tease them with a selection of engine noises – from idle to high revs – but now we get a real photo of the AMG GT, albeit covered in lurid green and black camouflage swirls.
Porsche Macan 2.0 litre 4-cylinder coming to the UK – but not Europe
Fri, 02 May 2014The Porsche Macan 2.0 litre Turbo will be available in the UK Porsche quietly revealed their first car with a 4-cylinder engine in almost a generation at the Beijing Motor Show last month with the arrival of the Porsche Macan 2.0 litre turbo, produced to mop up sale in China. China’s tax system mitigates against thirstier, bigger-engined cars, so a 2.0 litre turbo attracts tax at less than half the rate of the 3.0 litre V6 in the Macan S, so it will be the big volume model for China. But the demand from China for the 2.0 litre Macan means Porsche won’t have the capacity to build it for other left hand drive markets, so Europe won’t be getting the little-engined Macan.
