GENERAL DESCRIPTION The DCT450 (Ford/Volvo) and the DCT470 (Mitsubishi) are a double wet clutch 6 speed automatically controlled manual shift gearbox by Getrag. Technical data from Ford may refer to this transmission as DPS6, Volvo; MPS6 and Mitsubishi; W6DGA or SPS6. These two transmissions may look very similar externally but there are many significant differences. This manual provides the major differences between these two very similar gearboxes by Getrag with complete valvebody breakdowns and hydraulics. One such notable difference is that the DCT450 uses a double input shaft with the inner shaft providing power to the odd gears and the outer shaft for the even gears. Mitsubishi's DCT470 is just the opposite. The Inner input shaft is used for the even gears and the outer for the odd. |

Petrol cars twice as likely to fail MOT on emissions
Thu, 07 Nov 2013The latest MOT test data shows that 26.2% of all cars tested fail on excess exhaust emissions – and surprisingly petrol cars fail more than twice as often as diesels in this part of the annual roadworthiness test. According to the official Vehicle Operator and Standard Agency (VOSA) figures, which cover all of 2010 and the first nine months of 2011, 9.7% of petrol cars failed to meet MOT emissions standards compared to just 3.9% of diesels. VW announces Mk6 Golf prices

Along with a 79bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine, an entry level S model comes with a decent level of equipment to help offset the price increase. As standard there's ABS, ESP, seven airbags, air-con, heated and electric mirrors, body-coloured bumpers and door handles, plus a CD/radio.
