Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R concept stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Frankfurt 2013 is all about efficiency for Toyota, celebrating 16 years and more than 5.5 million worldwide sales of its hybrid vehicles. So the Japanese firm has gone crazy to applaud its own technical innovation over the years, dropping a 414hp hybrid powertrain into its Yaris supermini this, is the Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R concept. Junction auto-brake for next Volvo XC90

THE NEXT Volvo XC90 will be able to brake itself if its driver attempts to pull out in front of an oncoming car, as one of two world-first safety innovations. This auto-brake technology detects whether an approaching car is technically on a collision course and will hit the stoppers to prevent a possible accident. However, there is no mention of an increased risk of rear-end collisions where drivers following the XC90 might also accelerate, not expecting the Volvo to stop suddenly.

BMW M Performance Automobiles Geneva 2012 launch

This week is the Detroit Auto Show, but car makers are already releasing details of their offerings for the next car show at Geneva in March. Today, BMW has joined that list by announcing they will launch the  BMW M Performance Automobiles division at the Spring show.
