Girodisc Rotor ConstructionThe primary purpose of the Girodisc system is to reduce unsprung and overall vehicle weight. The secondary purpose is to increase the ventilation and cooling capacity of the brake disc while retaining it's original dimensions. This is accomplished by using two-piece disc construction. The central “hat” section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. All of our larger size upgrade 2 piece kits come supplied with a free spacer and larger caliper bolt.
