The GiroDisc system is an upgrade to a 2-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination and is a direct replacement for the OEM brake disc.  The 2-piece floating disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OEM calipers perfectly.  By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight high-performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency.  The Giro Disc rotors are lighter than OEM pieces.  The reduction in rotational and unsprung weight (7 lbs per corner) allows for quicker acceleration and suspension response.

**MINOR ARCHING OF THE REAR OUTBOARD PAD WILL BE REQUIRED DUE TO THE TIGHT TOLERANCES.**

When used with Pagid performance brake pads, and Prospeed RS683 hi temp fluid (both also available from CompetitionMotorsport.com), you have an amazing solution to overheating and warping rotors.

The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum.  The disc is manufactured from cast iron which is constructed in the USA and is made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations.  The rotors curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.

The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance.  The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat.  The pins are secured by grade12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.

The 2-piece GiroDisc design allows for rotor only replacement as well to minimize future replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.

Sold/Priced per pair.

Nissan pilots digital car manual

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

NISSAN has brought the humble car manual into the 21st Century with a new smartphone app that contains everything drivers need, including warning light recognition. The ‘iManual’ system is being trialled with the Micra manual, since Nissan has judged that the stylish supermini’s owners are the most likely to adopt and use the iPhone- and Android-compatible app. It squeezes the paper manual’s entire contents into an easy-to-manage format that users can access anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection.
