GM 'SILVERBOX' NAV RADIO THEFTLOCK RESET AND TESTING SERVICE

Auction is for GM navigation radio Theftlock reset service for the 'Silver Box' units  These are the new GM nav radios, which have an internal hard drive and remote display screen and controls.  If you are reading this, you likely have "Theftlock", "Theftlocked", or "LOCKED" displayed on your factory GM navigation system display.  Or, perhaps you are considering installation of a surplus or salvage factory navigation console in your vehicle (from ebay, junk yard, etc), and know that it will not work unless it is unlocked.  Simply send us your nav unit (Silverbox only) and we will send it back unlocked and ready to work in your vehicle.  Great approach to upgrade a stock radio to a factory GPS navigation unit.

  • Upgrade your vehicle to a premium navigation system
  • No need to spend $1,200-$2,000 for a new navigation radio, use a much lower cost surplus or salvage unit from a similar vehicle
  • Unlock any compatible factory navigation system for use in your vehicle
  • Great service for do-it-yourselfers, avoid the dealer hassle

Very few GM dealers will provide this unlock service.  For the knowledgeable and helpful dealers who do provide the radio VIN relearn service, they will hit you up for an hour's labor charge - typically $85 or more.  Avoid the dealer hassle.

In addition to unlocking, we will also fully test your navigation unit - checking for any past fault codes that would indicate any intermittent problems.

Nav unit will be also be fully tested for...

  • Touch screen operation and display (and motor control for CTS/SRX)
  • AM/FM/XM/GPS antenna inputs
  • Navigation map
  • Center console communication (button recognition & backlighting control)
  • All speaker outputs
  • Fault codes checked (DTCs)
  • CD/MP3 function
  • Hard drive function
  • DVD playback (on-screen and remote output - if equipped)
  • Backup camera input (if equipped)
NOTE:  We don't perform radio repairs, but we will note any issues - should you wish to address them with the original provider of the unit.

Unlock service provided for all newer model Silverbox factory nav radios made for GM by Denso, Bosch, etc.  To confirm, please check the photos below and supported vehicle list.

Thanks for bidding!

NOTE:  Radio photos are for information only.  No radios are included - auction is for radio reset and testing service.

Additional Note:  Are you a salvage yard and have several radios which you would like tested and unlocked?  Please feel free to contact us with any volume pricing inquires.

Infiniti EV put on hold to concentrate on volume sales

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

An Infiniti EV based on the Nissan LEAF (previewed by the LE Concept above) have been put on hold Nissan’s luxury arm, Infiniti, is on a global push to try and make inroads in to the dominance of Lexus in the luxury Japanese car arena, and has ambitious plans to be selling 500,000 cars a year by 2017. But Infiniti sold only a third of that total in 2012, so any chance of hitting the lofty target of 500k cars in the next five years means they must concentrate on volume cars, not niche cars like a Nissan LEAF based EV. That means the LEAF-based Infiniti LE EV Concept we saw at the New York Auto Show in 2012 will stay as a concept for the foreseeable future as Infiniti boss, Johan de Nysschen, seeks volume cars that will push the brand forward and bring proper sales numbers.

Audi TT (2014) in detail: news, prices, specs

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

By Ben Barry First Official Pictures 08 August 2014 10:39 Could the third-generation Audi TT finally be about to live up to the mini-me Porsche 911 billing that its looks have always promised but its dynamics never delivered? As tech development boss Oscar Da Silva Martins talks CAR round a cutaway of the car’s monocoque ahead of its launch in November, it seems a tantalising possibility. With a clever mixture of aluminium and steel, the new TT’s kerbweight is not only some 140kg shy of the iconic Mk1 of 1998 but also 50kg lighter than its steel-and-aluminium-based predecessor, despite extra equipment that boosts both safety and convenience.

Toyota: Fixes are working on recalled vehicles

Tue, 09 Mar 2010

Toyota maintains that the fixes being made to correct unintended acceleration in millions of recalled vehicles are sufficient. But at a press event Monday, company officials said they are willing to bring in as many independent researchers as needed to resolve the issue once and for all. “We don't think there is a ghost issue out there,” said Kristen Tabar, general manager of electronic systems at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.
