Up for auction is everything you need to install a  GM 12 Bolt Car 4.10 ratio Ring & Pinion gear set. 

 

First is the Ring & Pinion Gear.   This item is in good used condition!  Richmond Gear Manufacturing ring gear and pinion, matching numbers on both pinion and ring gear. This ring and pinion is for GM Car applications only!

 

Next is a new - unopened Summit Racing Install Kit # SUM - G7917. This is a complete kit featuring a full set of bearings, shims, gasket, bolts, crush sleeve, etc. this kit is for GM Car applications only!

 

I had the unfortunate experience of purchasing these items only to discover my application was for GM truck and not GM Car, thus, I am offering these item for auction.  

Ford software maximizes hybrid efficiency

Ford will use a little navigation wizardry on two of its hybrids: the C-Max Energi plug-in and Fusion. The system will use GPS data and an algorithm to predict when a driver is close frequented destinations. The car will adjust powertrain controls to maximize efficiency.Ford calls the feature EV+, which is part of SmartGauge, standard on the Fusion Energi and C-Max Energi plug-ins and on hybrid models.

Ian Callum reflects on the design of the new Jaguar XJ Ian Callum is Design Director for Jaguar, and the man does have a good pedigree. His career started round the corner from us, at Ford’s Design & Research facility at Dunton. He worked on a number of Ford’s RS projects, before moving on to TWR to join Tom Walkinshaw, and was responsible for the design of the Aston Martin DB7 and the Vanquish.

IDSA's 3D-printed car design contest gets underway

Aspiring designers have the chance to see their 3D-printed car designs launched down a miniature model of a ski jump and crash in the Launch Day 2013 competition due to take place at the 2013 IDSA conference, which runs from 21-24 August. Up to five designs can be entered for free until 12 August in the competition, organized by The Industrial Designers Society of America. All submissions will then be judged for both aesthetics and for "using unique attributes of 3D printing" which will whittle them down to just 10 designs that will be printed before the launch.
