Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing Electric – Official

Mercedes has confirmed they are planning an SLS AMG eDrive for 2015 As we suggested the other day, it looks like this will be known as the Mercedes SLS AMG eDrive. It will feature an in-board electric motor for each wheel, generating the equivalent of  526bhp, which should give the SLS eDrive similar performance to its conventionally driven sibling. By putting a motor at each corner, Mercedes are effectively endowing the SLS eDrive with an intelligent four wheel drive system.

With attention focused on improving the driving experience and boosting cabin space, it’s hoped the improvements can reboot the compact people mover’s appeal. The new model arrives to take advantage of the boom in the compact crossover market.

Hyundai offers crate V6s and fours at SEMA

Crate engines are usually high-output, high-displacement, domestic motors from Ford, GM and Chrysler. Hyundai said no mas yesterday at SEMA, introducing its plan to offer the Lambda 3.8-liter V6 and Theta 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as crate engines for sale. The program begins next month.
